Actively managed funds

In sharp contrast with many funds who don't seem to change their composition that often, or trackers who by definition follow a certain "fixed" selection of shares, actively managed funds provided yet another alternative.

As I've only invested in very few, these results are even less statistically relevant than my previous posts 😔

Investing in such funds for an average of 3 years, the results showed on average a 6% annual return.

Comparing again with our beloved Euro Stoxx 600, these funds yielded 30% compared to Euro Stoxx growing 40%.
As with the emerging market trackers, the only advantage of more actively buying & selling has been that I've cashed in on my profit and have now stepped out of most of these funds.

Conclusion: once more the market beat these funds who are managed by people that are getting very, very rich managing others' wealth... Quite disappointing actually as I would have expected them to at least follow the market, if not do better thanks to a wise selection of either geographies or industries to exclude some lower performers.
